Product Description

Pediatric (Child) Crutches, designed specifically for a child’s frame. These lightweight and durable crutches provide the essential support needed for recovery from sprains, fractures, or post-surgical healing.

Key Features

  • Scaled for Kids: Sized perfectly for smaller users, typically fitting children and young teens between 4’6″ and 5’2″ tall.
  • Lightweight Aluminum Frame: Constructed from the same high-strength, durable aluminum as adult crutches but built lighter for easier maneuverability, supporting up to 250 lbs.
  • Adjustable for Growth: Features easy-to-use push-button height adjustments for both overall height and hand grip placement, ensuring the perfect fit as your child recovers or grows.
  • Comfort & Safety First: Includes soft, comfortable underarm pads and hand grips to reduce irritation and hand fatigue. The non-skid, oversized rubber tips provide superior traction on various surfaces for added stability.
  • Fun & Discreet: Often available in standard silver or fun, bright colors to help personalize the recovery process.

How to Achieve the Perfect Fit (Parent/Caregiver Guide)

Proper fitting is crucial for safety and proper posture:

  1. The Underarm Gap: Ensure about 1.5 to 2 inches (two fingers) of space between your child’s armpit and the top of the crutch pad. The child’s weight should be on their hands, not their armpits.
  2. Hand Grip Position: With their arm hanging naturally, the top of the hand grip should line up with their wrist crease.
  3. Elbow Bend: When holding the grip, their elbow should have a slight bend of about 15–30 degrees.

Safety Note: Always supervise children using crutches, especially on stairs or wet surfaces. Regularly inspect the rubber tips for wear and replace them immediately if they look smooth to prevent slipping.
